Great Neighborhood Stores on SI
In 2017, SINFI and SIPCW handed out 4,000 postcards to Staten Islanders, asking for the names of stores or restaurants with fresh produce, local ownership, healthy and tasty food, ethnic diversity and authenticity, and owners and managers who love their neighborhoods.
More than 100 stores were nominated, and seven were recognized at the January 30, 2018, Difference Makers certificate ceremony at St. John’s University, Staten Island:
